President Draupadi Murmu honored Ajay with the Prime Minister's Children National Award-2025 (Courage Category) in New Delhi.
Jagran correspondent, Agra. Salute to the courage of Ajay Raj who saved his father's life from the crocodile. He knew that the crocodile was much stronger than him. In Chambal river, the crocodile can chew him and his father in the blink of an eye. But, along with courage, he also displayed cleverness. First the mouth and then both the eyes were hit with sticks 12 to 15 times.
For this courage of Ajay, President Draupadi Murmu honored Ajay with the Prime Minister's Children's National Award-2025 (Courage Category) in New Delhi on Friday. Received this award for saving his father's life from a crocodile attack on July 25. This award includes a medal, citation and one lakh rupees. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has congratulated Ajay on winning the award.

Veerbhan alias Bantu of Jharnapura, Basauni Bah was driving goats on the banks of Chambal river at 2 pm on July 25, 2025. Veerbhan was also accompanied by his 10 year old son Ajay Raj. Veerbhan had gone to the river to fill water in the bottle. Meanwhile, the crocodile caught hold of Veerbhan's right leg and started pulling him towards deep water.
Hearing his father's voice, Ajayraj jumped into the river with a stick. First of all he hit the crocodile's mouth with 10 sticks. When his grip did not loosen, Ajay showed cleverness and hit him with five sticks, targeting both the eyes. The crocodile got scared due to the attack on its eyes and ran away leaving its legs behind.
Chief Minister congratulated, on July 25, he had killed the crocodile with a stick in Chambal river.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has congratulated Ajay for his courageous act. He displayed indomitable courage, quick wit and amazing patience. The entire Uttar Pradesh is proud of this little warrior. Your courage is an inspiration to children across the country. Best wishes for a bright future have also been given.

Ajayraj is a class four student of primary school Kunwarkheda. There is an atmosphere of celebration in the village after Ajay received the award. After receiving the award, people are coming to congratulate Ajay and Veerbhan. Six years ago, Ajay's mother Aarti Devi died due to illness. Ajay has elder sister Kajal and younger brother Kushal. The brother and sister are proud of Ajay's courageous act.
