State Bureau, Patna. On the initiative of Civil Aviation Department of Bihar Government, regular bus service has been started between Purnia Airport and Jogbani. This service is being operated from 18th February. Its objective is to provide easy and convenient road transport for air travel to the passengers of Seemanchal and Nepal border area.

Currently two buses are running on this route and two more buses will be started soon. For this, an application has been made for online permission in the Regional Transport Authority, Purnia.

Civil Aviation Department Secretary Nilesh Ramchandra Devre said that this step will prove to be important in connecting the passengers of Seemanchal and Nepal with other parts of the country. The government is making continuous efforts to strengthen the connectivity of Purnia Airport.

This will not only increase the number of passengers, but will also promote social and economic development of the area. Currently there are two daily flights to Kolkata and direct flights to Delhi, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad from Purnia Airport. The new bus service will provide special benefits to the passengers of Araria, Forbesganj and Jogbani.

Timings of the buses are as follows - Departure from Purnia Airport to Jogbani at 9.45 am and 2.45 pm. Buses are available from Jogbani to Purnia Airport at 6.30 am and 2.30 pm. This service will ensure timely and safe movement of air passengers.
