Purniya: The Wife Said In Grief Over The Death Of Her Husband, I Will Not Let His Eyes Burn, Then I Did This Thing

After the death of her husband in Purnia, the wife donated both her eyes.

Jagran correspondent, Purnia. : You must have heard and read the news of the wife also giving up her life along with the death of the husband. But after the death of her husband, she would not have heard or read someone saying, 'Donate both the eyes of my husband, it will make me more happy.' In fact, on Thursday, Nibha Devi's husband Devnarayan Mahato died at the age of 72 in Milan Para Station Road Khushkibagh of the city. He was ill for the last 15 days.

After his death, Nibha Devi came forward to donate the eyes of her deceased husband and asked her son Amit to contact Dadhichi Dehdan and get the eyes donated. Some of his family members were uncomfortable with this. But Nibha Devi said with pride that she would be very happy if her husband's eyes were donated. After this Amit contacted Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta and Ravindra Sah and their team. After which Devnarayan Mahato's eyes could be donated. Please note that Devnarayan Mahato is the 18th eye donor of the district.

Retired teacher donated eyes in Gadbanelli

Before donating the eyes of Devnarayan Mahato, on Wednesday, Dadhichi Deh Donation Committee organized the eye donation of a retired teacher after his death in Sancha village of Gadbanelli. It may be noted that on January 21, retired teacher Anchit Lal Das, father of teacher Akhilesh Anand, passed away at the age of 89. After his death, his son Akhilesh Anand donated his father's eyes.

It may be noted that the eye donation of both the deceased was done by the team from Katihar Medical College. The eye donation team included Dr. Abhinav, Dr. Abhishek, Dr. Ira, Dr. Shubham, Dr. Shama, Dr. Atif, Dr. Avinash, Dr. Farhina. Here, on the death of both the elders, Provincial Vice President of Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti, Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Heena Saeed, Ravindra Sah and members of Green Purnia organization have expressed their condolences and gratitude for getting their eyes done.
