Jagran correspondent, Faridabad. Additional Sessions Court Judge Hemraj Mittal has sentenced a man to 20 years in jail for raping an 11-year-old girl.
Chief defense lawyer Ravinder Gupta said that this case was registered at Dabua police station on October 29, 2020, based on the complaint of the girl. The culprit has been identified as Ravi Pandey, who hails from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh and lives in Dabua police station area.
According to the registered case, at that time the girl was studying in the second class. His parents would go to work and leave him and his younger brother alone at home. On October 26, 2020, when his parents went to work, Ravi Pandey, who lives in the neighbourhood, entered their house. On the pretext of asking for help in some work, he took the girl to his room and raped her.
He threatened the girl that if she told anyone he would kill her. Initially the girl did not tell anything to her parents, but she started remaining mute and silent. When her mother lovingly asked her, the girl told her that her neighbor Ravi Pandey had committed the crime. After this the mother took her to the police station and lodged a complaint.
