SGPC members reached the Police Commissioner's office along with lawyers.

As part of the ongoing police investigation into the case of 328 missing holy figures, on Friday, seven members and officials of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) reached the Amritsar Police Commissioner's office to record their statements. All these officers appeared before the police under the leadership of SGPC's legal advisor Amanbir Singh Siyali. This action is being taken under the SIT investigation of FIR number 168.
While talking to the media after recording the statement in the Police Commissioner's office, Amanbir Singh Siyali said that the statements of the seven members who have recorded their statements today have already been recorded before the investigation committee headed by Dr. Ishwar Singh. The complete investigation report of that time was also made public. Now after the FIR is registered, the statements are being recorded again by the SIT as per the legal process.

Summons issued to 40 members
Siyali clarified that summons have been issued by the police to a total of 40 SGPC members and officials. Of these, seven present officers have joined the investigation today. Further decision regarding the role and statement of officers who have retired or are no longer in service will be taken by the investigating agency.
He also said that SGPC is not backing down from any kind of investigation and full cooperation is being given to the police.

He claimed that earlier also all the necessary documents and facts had been placed before the investigation committee and even now the police will be given all possible cooperation. Police officials said that the investigation into the case related to 328 sacred statues is going on seriously.
The next process of investigation will be taken forward after recording the statements of all the concerned parties. Police say that further legal action will be taken only on the basis of facts and evidence.
