Excise team raided 14 places in three villages.
Samvadsutra, Barabanki. A distillery working on raw liquor has been exposed in the forest department's forest on the banks of Kalyani river. Seeing the Excise Department team that arrived after crossing the river by boat, the people making Kachhi ran away. Two quintals of Lahan was recovered on the spot, which was destroyed on the spot. The team has raided a total of 14 places in three villages and registered two cases.
As part of the enforcement campaign being conducted on the orders of the Excise Commissioner, on the instructions of District Excise Officer Kuldeep Dinkar, on December 21, Excise Inspector Laxmi Chandra Pal along with the team of Diwalpur police post of Asandra conducted raids in villages Bela Tikuri, Manjhauti and Ashrafpur.
During the raid, about 35 liters of raw liquor was recovered at 14 places. Two cases have also been registered under the Excise Act. The team has also recovered some pauvas of country liquor and 350 kg of Lahan.
The Excise Department team crossed the river by boat and reached the forest department forest located on the banks of Kalyani river at the other end of Manjhauti village. The people making liquor ran away as soon as they saw the team.
An extinguished furnace and about two quintals of Lahan were recovered on the spot. Jahangirabad police arrested Bhayara resident Ghazi Hasan and recovered ten liters of raw liquor and filed a case against him.
District Excise Officer said that along with the raid, a surprise inspection of the country liquor and composite shop located in Diwalpur was also conducted.
During the raid, the villagers in the three villages were made aware about the adverse effects of consuming illicit liquor and an appeal was also made to inform them about the activities of manufacture, sale and transportation of illicit liquor nearby.
