Vishwadeepak Tripathi, Maharajganj. Three tigers released in Sohgibarwa Wildlife Division on April 25 and May 8 have left the core zone of the forest and gone to the buffer zone (the area between the main forest and the human-affected area). Due to lack of food in the forest, the tigers brought from Pilibhit Tiger Reserve have made their home in the sugarcane fields adjacent to the populated areas. Due to which he is going to the village and hunting the pet animals.

Tigers also come here from Valmiki Tiger Reserve of Bihar. Incidents of human-wildlife conflict are happening every day in Sohgibarwa area. Following the initiative of the Union Forest and Environment Ministry, a plan has been made to take these tigers back to the forest. The details of food available for tigers will be collected by conducting a three-phase survey in the forest. Five forest personnel of Sohgibarwa have been trained in Suhelwa Wildlife Sanctuary for the survey starting under the direction of National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).

The first phase of the survey will start from December 10. In this, the forest workers will count the Sambar, Chital, rabbit, pig, buffalo etc. suitable for hunting the tiger on the forest edge. In the second phase, wildlife will be detected on 38 lines determined by satellite in Shivpur, Nichlaul, Madhwalia, North Chowk, South Chowk, Lakshmipur and Pakdi range. An app has been downloaded in the mobile phones of forest workers for the calculations. All details will be recorded on the same.

Wild animals will be released in the core zone to attract tigers: After the survey, wild animals suitable for hunting tigers will be released in the core zone. Due to which the tigers will gradually be attracted and come into the middle of the forest. Forest workers will cover a distance of five kilometers in a day and conduct the survey. There will also be constant monitoring in the forest to ensure that the tigers get enough food. Their activity will also be recorded in the trapping camera. The tiger had dragged the girl 25 meters: On August 16, Mamta, a resident of Sohgibarwa village, had gone with her friends to cut fodder for the animals in Basantpur Marchahwa of Kushinagar, adjacent to the border. During this time, the tiger sitting in the sugarcane field pounced on Mamta and dragged her 25 meters away. When the villagers came after hearing the noise of her friends, he snatched the flesh from Mamta's head and ran away. Every day, tigers are entering the villages of Maharajganj and Kushinagar and hunting animals. The villagers had recently demonstrated at Shivpur Range Office to take the tigers to the forest.

During the survey, the wild animals hunted by tigers will be counted. In fact, leaving aside Sambar, Chital, rabbit and pig, tigers will be attracted to come towards the forest. There will be constant monitoring to ensure that they get adequate food in the dense forest.
