A sensational case of house burglary came to light in West Delhi.
Jagran correspondent, West Delhi. A sensational case of treachery by a domestic help and burglary has come to light in Punjabi Bagh area of West Delhi. The accused woman did recce of the house on the pretext of job and taking the opportunity made away with cash worth lakhs. On the basis of clues received from the vigilance and technical investigation of Punjabi Bagh police station, the police have arrested 18-year-old domestic help Lakshmi.
DCP D Sharad Bhaskar said that the accused is a resident of Mangolpuri. Of the stolen amount, Rs 2,66,600 cash has been recovered from him. On January 15, a theft complaint was lodged at Punjabi Bagh police station. The complainant told that a large amount of money kept in his house was stolen. Police registered a case under various sections of BNS and formed a team to arrest the accused.
During the investigation, the police examined the footage of more than 25 CCTV cameras installed in and around the incident site. When suspicious activity was seen in the footage, the police took the help of technical intelligence and local informers. Based on the clues received, the police reached the accused Lakshmi and arrested her. During police interrogation, Lakshmi admitted that she had stolen a total of Rs 5,63,000 in cash from the complainant's house. On investigation, the police have recovered Rs 2,66,600, while they are searching for the remaining amount. According to the police, no previous criminal record of the accused has been found, but his other contacts are being investigated. The recovered cash has been seized as per legal process and the accused has been sent to judicial custody.
