Remember The Day Of 22 February, Some Trains Were Canceled And Some Were Changed On The Bhagalpur-Howrah Railway Route.

Traffic block at Pirpainti railway station of Bhagalpur for more than six hours on 22 February, some trains cancelled.

Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. Steel girder launching will be done for the construction of 12 meter wide Foot Over Bridge (FOB) between platform numbers one and two at Pirpainti Railway Station. For this, on Sunday, February 22, from 10 am to 4:10 pm, a traffic and power block of six hours and 10 minutes will be taken on all the lines of the station including the siding.

Due to this work, operation of some trains will be affected. According to PRA of Malda Division, 73420 Bhagalpur–Sahibganj Demu and 63411/63412 Sahibganj–Bhagalpur–Sahibganj passenger trains will remain canceled on this day. At the same time, 53403 Rampurhat – Gaya passenger train has been rescheduled and this train will run with a delay of three hours from Rampurhat. Railways is advising passengers to plan their journey well in advance.

At the same time, Railway Board has transferred IRTS cadre officer Zafar Azam. He has been posted to East Central Railway from Eastern Railway. Along with this, the transfer of Malda Senior DOM Amarendra Kumar Maurya, issued on 17 December 2025, has been cancelled. Maurya has also now been kept in East Central Railway.

Ravindra Pandey, Director of Establishment Department of Railway Board, has issued a letter in this regard and given instructions. Besides this, ADRM Shiv Kumar Prasad, Malda, has been transferred to Southern Railway and will be sent to Chennai. Instructions for his new posting have not been received yet. The transfer of Arun Kumar Srivastava, who was sent from Howrah to Malda in his place, has been cancelled.

Railway officials say that the FOB construction work will be done with complete security arrangements. Passengers are requested to plan their journey keeping in mind the change in train operations on the scheduled date. After the completion of the construction work, facilities for pedestrians will increase at Peerpainti station and crowd management will be better. Thus, the updates on security and traffic management as well as officer transfers at Peerpainti Railway Station have shown significant changes in the local railway operations and administration.
