To achieve this goal, the police will work on 4-E model - education, enforcement, engineering, emergency care. Although efforts have been made in this direction earlier also, this time technology has also been incorporated in the initiative.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Yogi Adityanath has pledged to celebrate Road Safety Month as 'Zero Fatality Month'. The responsibility has been assigned to transport, traffic police, road construction unit and health department. People will be made aware of traffic rules by spreading publicity in public places on behalf of the government machinery.
Strict action will be taken against those who violate traffic rules
People can also be made to understand that even a small mistake while driving can cost their lives and that of others. Despite this, people who do not follow traffic rules will be dealt with strictly. Effective action will be taken against drunk driving, overspeeding, lane violation, driving in the wrong direction, not wearing helmet and seat belt, reflector tape, fog lights, vehicles driven without permit and without fitness.
Along with issuing challans, a strict message will also be given by canceling the licenses of habitually negligent people. So that people follow the traffic rules while driving on the road. Drive the vehicle only after making every rule your habit. On the other hand, deficiencies in road engineering and not providing timely first aid are also responsible for the loss of lives in road accidents.
Due to these reasons, lives are lost even in normal road accidents. It remains a regret for the relatives throughout their life. To avoid this, all the departments have to coordinate and find out the flaws in road engineering. The concerned department also has to remove the deficiencies within the stipulated time.
In case of an accident, immediate medical care should be available. For this, resources like ambulances should be arranged at certain distances on the roads. By working on emergency care, any injured person can get immediate first aid. DCP Traffic Praveen Ranjan Singh said that National Road Safety Month has started. Road Safety Month will be organized till 31 January 2026.
