Retired Employees Of Fatehabad Will Join The Nationwide Strike On 12th February, Protest Against The Government On Their Demands.

Jagran correspondent, Fatehabad. Retired employees will also participate in the nationwide strike to be held on February 12 on the call of the trade union. In the meeting of All Retired Employees Welfare Association, it was decided to support this strike and join it.

The meeting held at the old PWD B&R Rest House was presided over by District Heads Munshi Ram Kamboj and Nihal Singh Matana and conducted by Randhir Singh Dabas and District Secretary Subhash Chandra Chauhan. In the meeting, preparations for the nationwide strike were discussed and it was decided to prominently raise the demands of retired employees in the strike. On this occasion, two minutes of mourning was paid and tribute was paid on the demise of retired employee Naib Singh Dhillon.

Addressing the meeting, District Head Munshiram Kamboj said that after the age of 60, 70 and 75 years, basic pension should be increased by five, 10 and 15 percent, medical allowance should be increased from one thousand to five thousand rupees monthly,

Their organization has been agitating for a long time demanding restoration of the old pension system, reintroduction of free travel facility at concessional rates in railways for pensioners after the age of 60 years, immediate release of 18 months' outstanding DA including Ariyapur, providing LTC facility to family pensioners, but the government is not serious about the demands of the retired employees.

In such a situation, retired employees will actively participate in the strike on 12th February and protest against the policies of the government. Through the strike, apart from the above demands, there will be a demand to reduce the pension commutation to 10 years and 8 months instead of 15 years and to implement the decision given by the Supreme Court on the central employees as well as the state employees. On this occasion, a large number of retired employees including Jagdish, Subhash Sheela, Ajit Singh, Madan Gopal Narang, Balraj Head Clerk Bhuna, Prithvi Singh Kakar, Shishpal Kanungo, Gaje Singh, Chandrabhan Chopra were present.
