Review Of Economically Weaker Section Of Upper Castes, Speed Up Making Of Certificates

A meeting was held on Wednesday at Samiksha Bhawan in Bhagalpur under the chairmanship of Rajkumar Singh, member of the State Commission for the Development of Upper Castes, to review the status of development of economically weaker section of upper castes and issuance of certificates. The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen the process of issuing certificates for economically weaker sections and to receive suggestions on issues related to it.

In the meeting, District Magistrate Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary told that under the Public Service Rights System in the state, certificates for economically weaker sections are issued. A maximum time limit of ten days is set for this, whereas in Bhagalpur district this work is usually completed within forty-eight hours to five days.

He said that so far 99.70 percent certificates have been issued in the district, which shows administrative efficiency. In the press conference held after the meeting, the Commission member also expressed his views on the same issue, the economically weaker section. He said that during the meetings held in various districts of the state, the support of district presidents of various political parties has also been received on this issue. Those which we will reach to the state government will then go to the central government.

On the questions asked regarding the bill related to higher education, he said that under the constitutional obligation, the suggestions and questions received from many parts of the state will be placed before the Central and State Government. He also made it clear that freedom of expression is paramount in a democratic system and it is not appropriate to impose opinions on anyone. Deputy Secretary of the Commission Shailendra Jha, Additional Collector Rakesh Ranjan, District Land Acquisition Officer Rakesh Kumar, Joint Director Public Relations Nagendra Kumar Gupta and many other officials were present in the press conference.
