Rishikesh: Chief Rafting Guide Rescues Tourist Floating In Ganga, Video Going Viral On Internet Media

Jagran correspondent, Rishikesh. A Gurugram resident tourist who was drifting on Shivpuri Yusuf Beach was saved by chief rafting guide Vipin Sharma. Five friends had come from Gurugram to visit Rishikesh.

This accident happened while bathing at Shivpuri Yusuf Beach. The video of the guide saving the tourists is being circulated rapidly on the internet media. The incident took place on January 25th.

Inspector Pradeep Chauhan, in-charge of Munikireti police station, said that Avinash, a resident of Gurugram, had gone to Shivpuri Yusuf Beach with his five friends.

During this time, the slippers of one of his friends started flowing in Ganga. As soon as the young man moved forward to catch the slipper, he got swept away by the strong current of the Ganges.

Seeing his friend drowning, Avinash entered the Ganga to save him. The friend was saved. But during this time Avinash started flowing in the Ganga.

During that time, Chief Guide Vipin Sharma was training the youth from Marine Drive in Ganga to Shivpuri. Vipin told that during this time, the cry of rescue of a young man who was floating in the Ganga was heard near Yusuf Beach.

He whistled and asked the guides of other rafts to also go to that place. Along with him, assistant guide Jitendra Tyagi threw a rope into the Ganga to save the tourist.

He jumped into the Ganges to catch the tourist who was drowning. The tourist was taken out and brought to the banks of Ganga. During this time the tourist was in an unconscious state.

They gave CPR to the tourist, but his airways were blocked. Team members were asked to give CPR to the tourist. After giving CPR for 15 minutes and opening the airways, the tourist started breathing. The tourist was sent to the hospital by 108 ambulance.
