Jagran correspondent, Rudrapur. A loan of Rs 6.18 lakh was taken from the HDFC Bank account of a transit camp resident. After some time, five lakh rupees were withdrawn. As soon as he came to know about this, the victim lost his senses. He has demanded action from the police. Police have registered the FIR and started investigation.
Kaushal Gangwar, resident of Ward 1, Shimla Bahadur Transit Camp, said that on January 3, he was sleeping in the house. Meanwhile a message came on his mobile. In which a loan of Rs 6.18 lakh has been approved and deposited in his HDFC Bank account. Whereas he had not applied for any kind of loan nor had given permission to anyone.
Shortly after this, the message came again and amounts of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 4 lakh were withdrawn from the account. On this he reached HDFC Bank branch. Where he was told that his mobile phone had been hacked and a loan had been taken. On this he blocked all his bank accounts, ATM cards and other digital services. Also lodged a complaint on cyber crime portal.
Kaushal has asked the police to take action against those who fraudulently took an online loan of Rs 6.18 lakh from HDFC Bank account and cheated Rs 5 lakh.
Station Head Transit Camp Mohan Pandey said that an FIR has been registered. Investigation is being done to find out how the loan was taken from the bank and how the money was withdrawn. After this necessary action will be taken.
