Vivek Singh, Jammu. The armed forces, showing courage and bravery, broke the back of Pakistan in the 1971 war with old weapons. With better strategic preparation, effective leadership and huge support of the countrymen, the Army had created history by bringing 93 thousand Pakistani soldiers to their knees. Now in 55 years, the country's military strength is skyrocketing due to preparations for war on land as well as in cyber and space.
Now if Pakistan shows its eyes, the army will completely destroy it. Indian soldiers, who had taught Pakistan a tough lesson during Operation Sindir, took inspiration from the martyrs of 1971 by paying tribute to the martyrs of 1971 on Victory Day on Tuesday. In the year 1971, the Indian Army had defeated the enemy while fighting with old weapons. Today our soldiers are equipped with better training, advanced technology, modern weapons and drones.
Now the army is many times stronger
Due to good roads, real time communication, satellite sports, surveillance network in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, now the army is many times stronger. There has also been an unprecedented increase in the strategic capability of the armed forces. The morale of the soldiers is at its peak. The Northern Command of the Army remembered the martyrs on Vijay Diwas and pledged to go to any extent for the security of the country. On Vijay Diwas, soldiers from Jammu to Siachen Glacier remembered the contributions of the 1971 martyrs and took inspiration from them.
In the year 1971, the war was fought with India's old Centarian tanks, MiG-21, Hunter, Canberra aircraft. In this war, the high morale of the infantrymen broke the morale of the enemy. At that time the army was short of weapons. In such a situation, to liberate Bangladesh, the armed forces had prepared for about four months and prepared their old tanks, vehicles and equipment for the war.
Today the armed forces are ready to fight any war at any time.
Today the armed forces of the country are ready to fight war at any time. Many times advanced and technology based armed forces are powerful on land as well as in sky and sea. Now women are also joining the armed forces to fight the war. Now India has become a world power from a traditional power.
Retired Army Colonel Virendra Sahi, who won the Vir Chakra in the Battle of Lalayali in the 1971 India-Pakistan war, says that the courage and bravery of the Army was the reason for the victory in the war 55 years ago. Our weapons, tanks, cannons were old. We also fought the war of 1965 with them. But in 1971, better strategic preparation was helpful in winning the war. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi wanted us to attack soon.
General Maneksha had made it clear that our tanks would be stuck in water in eastern Bangladesh in summer, hence we should wait for winter to come so that it would be possible to rectify the shortcomings. Preparations for the war took place within the four-five months that we met. The strong will of the country and proper preparation of the army brought the enemy to its knees in just 13 days.
Our military power reached from the ground to the sky
Colonel Sahi says that in 55 years our military power has reached from the ground to the sky. We now have better nuclear arsenals, long-range fire, Prithvi-like missiles, submarine-launched systems like the Sukhoi Su-30, Chinook helicopters and advanced surveillance aircraft.
Now tanks, cannons, fighter planes and helicopters are being made in the country. The Indian Army is equipped with Artificial Intelligence and advanced drone technologies. Pakistan cannot dare to fight a war with us now. His morale was broken by our precise attacks during Operation Sindoor. If Pakistan dares to go to war again, it will be destroyed.
When Pakistan, which was in trouble in East Bengal, launched a front in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, our forces entered its territory. In the year 1971, the Indian Army had killed the enemy in Basantar and Lalayali areas of Samba in Jammu region. The soldiers destroyed dozens of tanks and captured a large part of Pakistan.
Our soldiers foiled every conspiracy of Pakistan
On December 16, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal attained martyrdom by destroying ten enemy tanks during the Battle of Basantar fought at Shakkargarh. At the same time, in the battle of Lalayali in Chhamb sector, the brave soldiers of the Indian Army had defeated the Pakistani Army's conspiracy to capture Akhnoor, Rajouri and Poonch.
Colonel Sahi, the hero of this war, says that the enemy wanted to cut off Akhnoor. But due to the battle of Lalayali, he could not capture the 178 kilometer area and had to be defeated. Due to this, his conspiracy to let go Bangladesh and grab Rajouri Poonch districts had failed.
