Amin Ashok Kumar Rathi killed his mother, wife and two sons by shooting four bullets each.
Jagran correspondent, Saharanpur. For Amin Ashok, the shock of his father's death was so deep that he could never recover from it. After this, he suffered from depression to such an extent that he became an enemy of his family's life. Even before this, in the year 2022 and 2025, he had tried to kill the family by giving poison. The Chandigarh PGI doctor treating Ashok had also warned the family that he could take fatal steps at any time.
The family says that Ashok's father Surendra wanted that his son should also do a government job. Ashok kept denying this. Father Surendra died under suspicious circumstances on 28 June 2021, just a few days before his retirement. Out of compassion, Ashok got a job at his place as Collection Amin in Nakud tehsil. Due to this he continued to suffocate internally.
He used to hold himself responsible for his father's death.
He continued to feel that his father died because of him. This stress made him a mental patient. Getting angry over every issue and not listening to anyone in the family had become his habit. He also felt that if he told anything to his family, it would be ignored. On Monday night, Ashok first shot dead his wife, two sons and mother and then committed suicide by shooting himself.
Mental patient Amin was undergoing treatment at PGI, Chandigarh for the last three years. Amin's stress had increased so much that he was ready to kill his family. Amin was accompanied by his wife Sanjita to PGI, Chandigarh for treatment.
The doctor had warned of mental illness
The doctor had told the wife that the mental illness had increased so much that her husband could take the lives of the family. In such a situation, there is a need to be careful. Brother-in-law Jaiveer told that Ashok had repeated many times that he would destroy his entire family. The whole family was worried about his illness. In the summer season of the year 2022, Ashok had given drugs mixed in Frooti to two nephews and a niece who had come home. His life was saved due to timely treatment. After this, before shifting to Kaushik Vihar in Sarsawa, in the year 2025, he had given drugs mixed in cold drink to mother Vidyavati, wife Anjita and younger son Dev.
Elder son Karthik had refused to drink. After some time, the health of grandmother, mother and younger brother deteriorated, so Karthik called his relatives and got everyone admitted to the hospital.
The soldier lived on rent in Mangeram's house.
Amin Ashok Kumar Rathi lived on rent in the house of Fauji Mangeram in Kaushik Vihar Colony for a year. At around 2.30 pm on Monday night, the people of the colony had heard the sound of gunshots. Neighbors say they thought someone was bursting firecrackers, but did not know that family members had been shot dead.
When the incident came to light in the morning, the people of the colony were shocked. When we reached the spot, we saw that bodies of five family members, Amin Ashok, his mother Vidyavati, wife Anjita, son Karthik and Dev were lying in the bedroom. Everyone was bleeding and had bullet wounds. The surprising thing is that even after hearing the sound of bullets, the people nearby did not even consider it appropriate to inform the police. Everyone remained imprisoned in their homes.
Father's dream was that son and daughter-in-law should live in the village with mother.
Ashok's brother-in-law Jaiveer told that before his death, father Surendra had told his son Ashok to stay in the village with his mother, daughter-in-law and children. Therefore, Amin wanted to keep his wife and children with their mother in the village. Preparations were also being made to build a house in the village, but Amin's wife Anjita was not at all happy to live in the village. Reaching village Kharibans on Wednesday, former minister Saheb Singh and BJP leader Raj Singh Majra consoled the family.
