Jagran correspondent, Meerut. The testimony of Investigating Inspector Ramakant Pachauri was completed on Wednesday in the Saurabh murder case that shook the city. Statements of forensic in-charge Anshul Kumar will be recorded on Friday.
It was Anshul who took out Saurabh's body after cutting the blue drum. After that the evidence will be closed. Only then will the court's decision come. On the other hand, the jail superintendent said that Muskaan has refused to take a lawyer for bail.
Saurabh, who came to his home Brahmapuri in Meerut from London on 24 February 2025, celebrated the birthday of daughter Pihu on 25 February and wife Muskaan Rastogi on 27 February. On March 3, Muskaan along with her lover Sahil Shukla murdered Saurabh Rajput.
After that the body was put in a blue drum and frozen with cement. From there the accused had gone to visit Himachal. Returned from there on 17 March. After that, on March 18, the entire incident was revealed. Then the police arrested Muskaan and the accused Sahil. The trial of the case is going on in the court of District Judge Sanjeev Pandey.
The plaintiffs in the trial are deceased Saurabh Rajput's brother Bablu, headmohar Brijesh Kumar who filed the report, Saurabh's mother Renu, deceased's friend Saurabh Kumar, knife seller Rakesh, blue drum seller Saifuddin, building material shop owner Ashu, medicine prescriber Dr. Arvind Kumar Deshwal, medicine giver Usha Medical Store operator Amit Joshi, blue drum cutter Ashok, inspector Dharmendra who filled the Panchnama. 37 testimonies have been given including Gaur, who conducted the post-mortem, Dr Dinesh Singh Chauhan and cab driver Ajab Singh.
The testimony of Inspector Ramakant Pachauri has also been completed on Wednesday. Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said that after having a daughter, Muskaan is spending her entire day with him. Also Muskaan refused to take a lawyer for bail.
