Digital Desk, Jabalpur. A case of serious financial irregularities has come to light in the guise of Panchgavya project worth crores of rupees in Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Sciences University. In this project, which was started with the aim of preparing useful products from cow dung and cow urine and making them available to the common people at cheap prices, priority was given to expenses and irregularities over research.
The report of the investigation committee constituted by the district administration has revealed that the officers and employees associated with the project ignored the rules and traveled to Goa, bought expensive vehicles and machines from such companies, which had direct links with the relatives of the people associated with the project.
Asked for documents, but did not get accounts
The inquiry committee sought all financial documents related to the project, itemized expenditure and budget details from the university administration, but the required information was not provided. Investigation of the documents handed over revealed that the project in-charge Prof. Yashpal Sahni and his team took trips that had no direct connection with the project. At the same time, there was no provision for purchasing a vehicle in the project, yet the vehicle was purchased.
Waited for hours, still did not receive the papers.
On the instructions of Collector Raghavendra Singh, investigation was conducted by SDM Raghuveer Maravi and Tehsildar Vinaika. The team corresponded several times and even reached the university itself and waited for hours, but clear details of the items and expenses of the project worth Rs 3.5 crore were not given. The investigation also revealed that the works for which the posts were responsible were not completed on the ground.

A two-member investigation committee formed on the orders of Jabalpur Divisional Commissioner Dhananjay Pratap Bhadauria has confirmed financial irregularities on the basis of available documents. Now project in-charge Prof. The sword of action is hanging against Yashpal Sahni, finance in-charge and other concerned people. The final decision will be taken at the Collector and Divisional Commissioner level.
This entire matter has raised serious questions on the functioning and transparency of the research projects going on in the Veterinary University. Now it has to be seen whether strict action is taken against the culprits or this matter also remains buried in the files.
