On the other hand, when the police lathi-charged, some mischievous elements ran away from the spot, but the police have taken five people into custody and registered a case under various sections. The arrested people are being interrogated to find out who was involved in stone pelting and arson.
20 bulldozers used to demolish encroachment
According to the police, seven bulldozers were called on Tuesday night to demolish the encroachment near Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque, but on Wednesday morning, 13 more bulldozers were called so that the encroachment could be cleared quickly.
Police took strict action
Delhi Police has taken strict action against miscreants who indulge in stone pelting and arson. Police have started action by registering a case under several serious sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) on charges of obstructing government work, damaging government property and attacking the police team.
According to Delhi Police, sections 221, 132, 121, 191(2), 191(3), 223(A), 3(5) BNS and Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984 (PDPP Act) have been included in the FIR lodged against the accused who created the ruckus.
During removal of encroachment, some mischievous elements tried to create disturbance by pelting stones. The situation was immediately brought under control by using mild force, which ensured that normalcy was restored without any tension.
