The person who stole UPS batteries from the server room of Civil Hospital was caught on CCTV.

Jagran correspondent, Panchkula. On Thursday, once again the patients had to face a lot of trouble in the Civil Hospital located in Sector-6. The main server of the hospital suddenly stopped due to which OPD cards could not be generated in A, B and C blocks. Patients who came for treatment early in the morning had to wait for hours and many patients were forced to return without prescription.

This time the reason for server downtime is theft of UPS batteries kept in the server room. It is being told that the thief removed the converter wires of about 35 to 40 UPS batteries. This theft was committed around 8 pm on Wednesday night. The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the server room.

Principal Medical Officer (PMO) of the hospital, Dr. RS Chauhan said that a complaint has been lodged with the police regarding this matter. Besides, the officials and technical staff of the server room are busy in getting the server running again.

Even before this, the hospital server was down for three consecutive days last week. During that time, there was a technical fault in the UPS batteries, due to which many batteries were replaced. OPD cards could not be made even for those three days, due to which the patients had to face a lot of trouble. The continuous technical problems and now the incident of theft have raised questions on the security arrangements and systems of the hospital.
