Rajya Sabha member Sikandar Kumar welcoming Himachal Pradesh BJP President Rajiv Bindal.

Jagran correspondent, Shimla. Speaking at a program in Shimla parliamentary constituency, BJP State President Dr. Rajiv Bindal said that Special Intensive Review (SIR) is an important and necessary process towards making democracy strong and transparent. He clarified that the Election Commission is an autonomous constitutional body, which has been improving the election procedures from time to time to ensure fair elections. SIR is not a new process, but it has been happening continuously since independence, hence making unnecessary noise on this subject is completely inappropriate.Dr. Bindal said that the Republic of India is for Indian citizens and the Constitution has given the right to vote only to Indians. But in the last 4-5 decades, crores of foreign citizens who have infiltrated unauthorizedly have got their votes and Aadhaar cards made by wrong means. Such people are influencing the elections with the power of their votes. The Election Commission is working to solve this serious problem through SIR, which is completely in the national interest.

Playing with national interest due to greed for vote bank

He alleged that some political parties are playing with the national interest in the greed of vote bank. Giving protection to infiltrators, helping them in getting votes and trying to win elections on their basis is tantamount to treason. Dr. Bindal said that infiltrators use India's wealth and resources, which directly violates the rights of Indian citizens.

Only authorized Indian citizens should have the right to vote

BJP State President clarified that Bharatiya Janata Party Himachal Pradesh firmly believes that only authorized Indian citizens should get the right to vote and unauthorized persons should not under any circumstances. He called upon the society to extend full cooperation in the process of SIR and all political parties should stand united in support of this campaign in the interest of the state and the nation.
