Six Thousand People Participated In The Padyatra In Solidarity Against Cancer In Delhi; Boosted Morale Of Patients

Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. A unique scene of hope and courage was seen at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday. The 19th Walk for Life Stride, Against Cancer Padyatra was organized by non-profit organization CanSport to create awareness among people about cancer and show solidarity towards the victims.

About six thousand people from different areas of NCR including Delhi participated in it. During this, the team of Delhi Drum Circle encouraged the participants by playing their tunes. People who have won the battle against cancer, doctors, school students, volunteers and stalwarts from the corporate world also participated in this event. During this time, banners with messages like don't be afraid of cancer, fight it and early detection, better life were also present in the hands of the participants. Apart from this, bike riders also encouraged the patients by participating in the march. At the same time, artists of theater group gave cultural presentations in the program. During this, the entire stadium echoed with thunderous applause. On this occasion, Founder of CanSport, Harmala Gupta encouraged the participants and said that cancer can be defeated if it is identified in time and this will be possible only when the message of cancer prevention and early detection reaches every section of the society. Cansupport, an organization honored by the World Health Organization, is currently providing free palliative care to about four thousand serious patients at their homes in 7 states of NCR including Delhi.
