The accident occurred on Nangal Khurd flyover of NH-44.
Dialogue associate Jagran, Rai. The scooter of three friends riding a scooter rammed into a truck on NH-44 on Monday evening. In the accident, two youths died on the spot, while one youth died in the hospital. The accident took place in the Delhi to Panipat lane of Nangal flyover itself. All three were not wearing helmets.
After the accident, the truck driver fled leaving his vehicle. The three youths who lost their lives in the accident were residents of Delhi's Rohini. One of those who died was the only son of his family. After the accident, there was a jam situation on the highway for a long time.
The accident occurred due to sudden braking by the truck driver
Police received information at around 4.30 pm that three youths riding a scooter were seriously injured after colliding with a truck on the flyover of NH-44 in front of TDI Expania Society. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and found that two of the three youths riding the scooter had died on the spot.
One injured person was taken to the nearby Nidan Hospital where he also died during treatment. The dead could not be identified for a long time after the accident. Investigating officer, ASI Sushil of Murthal police station said that the number of black scooter is DL 11 P 0292 registered in Delhi. The relatives of the deceased were contacted on the basis of registration number. The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old Mayank Sharma, son of Vijay Sharma, resident of Krishna Vihar, Rohini, Delhi, his friends Deepak and Tushar.
Both the friends are also said to be neighbours. Preliminary investigation has revealed that possibly due to sudden braking by the truck driver, the scooter coming behind rammed into it. The scooter was completely damaged from the front. Mayank's father Vijay has his own factory. He was the only son of the family. Mayank's grandfather's 13th birthday was on Sunday itself.
The bodies have been sent to the civil hospital for post-mortem. An FIR will be registered in the case on the basis of the complaint of relatives. The post-mortem of all three will take place on Tuesday.
