In a land dispute case, a sub-inspector posted at Kurlikote police station was suspended by the SP for demanding bribe, while a case has been registered in the same police station for demanding money for personal gain. At the same time, departmental action has also been initiated. However, after the case was registered, a notice was given from the police station.
Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar said that he received information that a bribe has been demanded from Inspector Arun Kumar Singh, resident of Jhala, posted at Kurlikot police station, in a land dispute case.
An audio clip of this matter was also sent. In the light of which Sub-Divisional Police Officer 2 Manglesh Kumar was instructed to investigate.
A preliminary investigation was conducted at Kurlikote police station, which revealed a serious cognizable offence. The audio clip obtained in the investigation proved that Police Sub Inspector Dilip Kumar Choubey demanded money for personal gain from Arun Kumar Singh, a resident of Jhala in the police station area, in a case related to a land dispute.
SP said that after confirming the authenticity of the audio and the use of mobile number, this act was found to be in the category of corruption and misconduct, taking it seriously, departmental action has been initiated by suspending Police Sub Inspector Dilip Kumar Choubey with immediate effect.
Apart from this, on the basis of preliminary investigation, a case has been registered against the Inspector under the section of extortion by showing fear in Kurlikote police station, for which a thorough investigation has been started.
SDPO Manglesh Kumar said that notice has been given to the Inspector due to lesser punishment of seven. The police inspector has been made the investigator of the incident.
Give information about illegal nexus between police officers and personnel
Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar has requested the common citizens to inform them with authentic evidence if any illegal nexus of any police officer or personnel is found. If any police officer or personnel anywhere demands bribe then do not give it.
In case of any such attempt, make audio or video recording of it and send it along with authentic evidence, so that further legal action can be taken against the concerned police officer or personnel.
He said that Kishanganj Police is fully committed to the policy of zero tolerance against corruption and misconduct. Strict action will be taken against the police officers and personnel doing wrong work and the police officers and personnel doing excellent work will also be rewarded.
