Case of murder of 24 year old student from Tripura, Angel Chakma in Dehradun.
Jagran correspondent, Dehradun. The police have laid an all-round trap to bring Nepal resident Yagyaraj Awasthi, who is absconding in the murder case of 24-year-old Tripura student Angel Chakma, to Dehradun.
STF Uttarakhand has been deployed to bring the accused. SOG teams have been sent to Nepal to assist STF.
It is being told that the police has traced the location of the accused, but there is a problem of treaty in bringing him from Nepal to India. In such a situation, Doon Police has started the extradition process against him.
On December 9, due to a dispute, some accused had attacked and killed Angel Chakma with a knife and a bracelet. In this case, the police arrested five accused including two minors within 24 hours.
While Nepal resident Yagyaraj Awasthi escaped to Nepal. Two police teams were sent in search of the accused and intelligence was activated to trace his location.
Its location was found in Nepal. Two police teams from Doon were also sent to Nepal, but the police could not bring him from Nepal to India. If sources are to be believed, the police has started the process of extradition. Nepal government has also been contacted for this.
