Stray animals will be removed from the streets of Jamshedpur

Jagran correspondent, Jamshedpur. The district administration has intensified all preparations for the proposed visit of President Draupadi Murmu to Jamshedpur on 26th February. In order to maintain security and smooth traffic system in the city, a special campaign will be launched from February 13 to control stray animals roaming on roads and public places.

In this regard, a 19-member team has been formed under the chairmanship of District Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Samarjit Mandal.

Responsibility for effectively conducting the campaign

The team formed includes officials and personnel of the Animal Husbandry Department as well as representatives from JUSCO, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), Tatanagar Gaushala and Tata Zoological Park.

Responsibility has been fixed to conduct the campaign effectively by establishing coordination among all the concerned departments.

Special surveillance around event venues

Deputy Administrator of Jamshedpur Access, Krishna Kumar said that during the arrival of the President, special vigil will be maintained around the major roads, intersections and program venues of the city.

Under the campaign, stray animals will be identified, caught safely and kept at designated places. Special care will be taken to ensure that the animals do not suffer any harm.

Appeal for cooperation from common citizens also

The administration has also appealed to the common citizens for cooperation. People have been requested not to leave their pet animals in the open and if stray animals are seen anywhere then they should inform the concerned department.

The aim of the administration is to ensure smooth traffic, cleanliness and security arrangements in the city during the President's visit. The Deputy Administrator said that this campaign will not only improve the arrangements during the President's visit, but will also prove to be a positive step towards solving the long-standing problem of stray animals in the city.
