However, during the shooting of the film, there was once a fight between Jaya Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna, that too over Hindi cinema megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Actor Raju Shrestha alias Master Raju, who worked as a child artist in the film Bawarchi, told about this incident in an interview. Raju said-
I was very young, I don't remember everything. All I know is that there was an argument between the two during the shooting, after which the shooting was also stopped. That fight was about Amit ji (Amitabh Bachchan). At that time Amit ji was progressing very fast in the cinema industry. He had said something to Jaya ji against Amit ji, due to which they had a fight and the shooting was stopped. After that Jaya ji never worked with Rajesh Khanna again.

Let us tell you that before this incident, the pairing of Jaya Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna was quite successful. Most of the filmmakers wanted to cast these two in their respective films. Before Bawarchi, the pair of Jaya and Rajesh were also seen in the film Guddi, which was successful at the box office.
It is known that the film Bawarchi was also counted among the most successful films of the 70s. The amazing thing is that both these films of Jaya Bachchan, made with Rajesh Khanna, proved to be milestones in her career.
