Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. Municipal Commissioner Kislay Kushwaha held a review meeting on Monday regarding the progress and maintenance of smart city projects being run in the city. In the meeting, he clarified that the concerned contractors will be responsible for the regular maintenance of the projects whose work has been completed.
In this regard, all the contractors have been instructed to submit weekly progress reports compulsorily. The Municipal Commissioner said that the 3-D painting done on the public walls of the city has become discolored at many places.
Expressing displeasure over this, the concerned contractors were ordered to get the painting done afresh. Considering the prolonged closure of the high mast light installed at Ghantaghar Chowk as serious negligence, a reply was called from the concerned sensor.
During the review, the case of 25 units of e-toilets lying defective and closed in the city also came to light. Considering this as serious negligence, the Municipal Commissioner directed to issue a notice to the concerned contractor. Apart from this, orders were given to complete the incomplete work of Bhairava Pond as soon as possible.
Regarding the operation of Sandys Compound, the Municipal Commissioner gave strict instructions to the concerned agency to work as per the terms of the agreement. Besides, instructions were given to get all the solar lights, street lights and high mast lights installed in the city repaired immediately.
Special emphasis was also laid on repairing dilapidated roads and ensuring regular cleanliness of the river front at Budhanath Ghat. The Municipal Commissioner gave a clear warning that action will be taken against those contractors who do not discharge their responsibilities honestly by registering an FIR and blacklisting them.
