Jagran Correspondent, Nainital: The High Court, while not granting bail to Abdul Malik, the main conspirator of Haldwani's Banbhulpura riot case, has asked the government to provide complete details. The court did not grant bail to even one former councilor while it approved the bail of three accused.
On Monday, the bail plea of 16 people including the main accused Abdul Malik was heard in the division bench of senior judge Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari and Justice Pankaj Purohit.
The court approved the bail of three accused Danish Malik, Junaid and Ayaz Ahmed, while did not grant bail to former Haldwani Municipal Corporation councilor Zeeshan Parvez alias Sebu. The court will now hear the bail case of the accused after two weeks.
While demanding bail on behalf of the main conspirator Abdul Malik, it was said that he is innocent. He was not present at the spot on the day of the incident. There is no concrete evidence against him. He is a senior citizen and has been in jail since February last year.
The government opposed the bail saying that he is the main accused. There are serious allegations against him of hatching a complete conspiracy.
He occupied government land and when the administration team reached there, he attacked them. The court refused to grant bail to the accused and directed to present the details of all the allegations against Malik in the court.
