The opposition once again tried to corner the government on the issue of law and order and crimes against women. The proceedings were repeatedly interrupted amid uproar, allegations and counter-allegations and sharp statements.
Congress effigy, poster and sharp message
On Tuesday, Congress MLA from Chanpatia, Abhishek Ranjan reached the House carrying an effigy of the Bihar government. A list of recent crimes was pasted on the effigy, bangles were worn and it was written on the poster - 'We are sorry, we are not able to provide justice to the daughters of Bihar.' This symbolic protest made the ruling party uncomfortable.
Opposition pressure on law-and-order
The opposition alleges that crimes are rampant in the state, especially incidents against women have increased. Regarding this issue, the opposition came to the well and remained adamant on the demand for discussion. The ruling party cited action and administrative efforts in response.
Impact of Nitish-Rabri debate even today
The echo of the heated exchange between Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Leader of Opposition Rabri Devi in the Legislative Council on Monday was heard on Tuesday also. Rabri Devi attacked the Chief Minister in sharp words, while the opposition raised objection over Nitish Kumar's remarks.
Shyam Rajak's taunt: 'The matter of brother-in-law and brother-in-law'
Former minister and JDU leader Shyam Rajak took a political taunt by calling this debate 'a matter between brother-in-law and brother-in-law'. He said that the opposition does not have concrete issues and is just trying to shine. Also claimed that prompt action is being taken against the crime.
Stir in BJP, arrival of Nitin Naveen
Here, there was a stir in the ruling camp due to the news of BJP National President Nitin Naveen reaching the Assembly at 12 noon. After welcoming all the whips at the main gate, they will be brought to the House, which is likely to further intensify political activities.
Question and Answer Line
In the proceedings, along with the question and answer period, answers will be given on the calling attention proposals related to the Food and Consumer Protection Department and the Health Department. Apart from this, reports and annual reports of various committees will be placed on the table of the House.
Bill, rules and second half of debate
In the second session, Bihar Municipal Law Service Rules 2025 and Planning Service Rules 2025 will be presented. In the second half, there will be a debate on the demands for grants related to income and expenditure for the financial year 2026–27. Overall, the political temperature in the House is likely to remain high even today.
