Students climb mobile tower with demands, BKU workers also

Jasan Muzaffarnagar: A BA student climbed the tower on Sunday demanding an investigation into Newmax City and action against factories and trucks burning garbage. Hanged the banner of his demands and sat on strike there. The student's drama continued for two hours and 50 minutes. After this he was brought down. A case was registered against the student in the RPF police station. He got bail.
21 year old Ajay Pandit, resident of Awas Vikas Colony of Police Station Civil Lines area, is a first year BA student of Meerut College. His father is a stamp seller in Pawan Sadar tehsil. Ajay is also a worker of Bharatiya Kisan Union. On Sunday, Ajay reached the railway station at around 11:30 with a banner. Holding the banner, he got his video made by someone and said that the people of the villages are suffering from serious diseases like cancer due to the waste burning in the factories. These polluting factories and trucks bringing garbage from Delhi should be sealed. Apart from this, the colony Newmax City under construction in Mansoorpur area should be investigated. After this he climbed the mobile tower installed in the station premises. New Mandi Kotwali in-charge Brijesh Kumar Sharma, Inspector Vineet Kumar of RPF police station, JE Raja of Regional Pollution Office arrived. The student told them that he would not come down until action was taken against garbage trucks and factories. He insisted on calling the city magistrate. Naib Tehsildar Amit Kumar arrived, but before that BKU leader Shakti Singh arrived and got the student down. The student got down at 2:30 in a total of two hours and 50 minutes. Ajay said that people are falling ill due to pollution. Action should be taken against the accused. On the other hand, RPF Inspector Vineet Kumar said that a case has been registered against the student under sections 145 and 147 of the Railway Act. He was arrested but since both the sections were bailable, he was released from the police station. He will appear in court on December 17.
