The daughter of Rajkumar Sharma, resident of Akalpura village of Sardhana area, was married in Bhokarhedi village in the month of November. On Monday afternoon, Vivek Sharma, Dinesh Sharma, Akshay, Deepika and Itika were going by car to bring him to his maternal home. Vivek was driving the car. As soon as the car reached Chaudhary Charan Singh Ganga Canal Kanwar track road ahead of Sathedi Ganga Canal bridge in Ratanpuri area, suddenly smoke started rising from the bonnet of the car and flames started rising. Everyone in the car jumped to save their lives. Within no time the car started burning.

There was a huge crowd of passers-by at the spot. The riders tried to control the fire with the help of people, but could not succeed. The car burnt down. People informed the police. Police reached the spot and inspected the spot. Short circuit has been said to be the cause of fire in the car.

Truck loaded with garbage caught on the highway, commotion

Dialogue Associate, Jagran, Khatauli (Muzaffarnagar). Activists of the non-political Bharatiya Kisan Union caught a truck loaded with garbage on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. The activists created a ruckus over the lack of ban on waste and demanded action in the matter. The pollution department took samples of the garbage loaded in the truck for testing. On Sunday morning, District General Secretary of BKU Arajnaitik Pavit Ahlawat, Block President Guddu Chaudhary, Youth Block President Sumit Dahod and Balraj stopped a truck laden with garbage on the highway. They created a ruckus against the lack of ban on carrying garbage in factories. Documents related to bringing and carrying garbage were asked from the truck driver.

SDM, ARTO and Pollution Department were informed. Naib Tehsildar Rajiv Tyagi, Sub Engineer of Pollution Department Raja Gupta and police force reached the spot. He demanded challan for trucks laden with garbage and imposition of fine for bringing garbage contrary to the standards. Activists alleged that banned waste was being transported in trucks in the name of RDF. The officials pacified the workers by explaining them. The pollution department team took samples of the garbage loaded in the truck for testing. The truck owner said that trucks loaded with garbage should be stopped by government officials.
