Jagran correspondent, Jamshedpur. Inspector Santosh Kumar of Tatanagar Railway Civil Defense will receive the President's Medal. The Home Ministry has issued a notification on Sunday regarding the medals and service boards to be awarded on the 77th Republic Day. This time there is only one from Jharkhand and only three employees from Railways who are going to receive the President's Medal.
Inspector Santosh Kumar of Tatanagar Railway Civil Defense is being awarded the President's Medal for his remarkable, commendable and distinguished services in the field of Civil Defense.
This is the first time in the history of South Eastern Railway that a Civil Defense Inspector from Chakradharpur division will receive the President's Award.
This award is given for exceptional devotion to duty, discipline, spirit of service and outstanding leadership abilities in times of crisis.
During his long service career, Santosh Kumar has played an important role in railway safety, disaster management, civil defense training and relief operations.
Earlier, he has been honored with Medal by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India in the year 2025, Distinguished Railway Service Award (2024) by South Eastern Railway, Garden Reach, PCSO Award in the year 2022, Senior SDGM Award in 2018 and Chakradharpur Divisional Railway Manager in 2002, 2005 and 2007.
At the same time, he was given awards from Senior DEE in the year 2010 and 2017.
