Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. While issuing public notice against house tax defaulters in the city, the Municipal Corporation also issued a sealing-attachment notice in the name of Trivatinath Temple located at Bhud, stating the outstanding of Rs 1,82,181.52 and Rs 1,76,874.93. As soon as the notice regarding property tax dues in the name of the temple was issued, there was panic among the people associated with the temple committee.

Calling the notice wrong, the corporation administration demanded an investigation and action. On the other hand, the Municipal Corporation Tax Department also modified the notice issued publicly and said that notice of dues has been issued on two business establishments in the temple premises.

Chief Tax Assessment Officer PK Dwivedi said that the corporation does not collect house tax in the name of temples and any other religious places. Notice has been issued in the name of shops built near Trivtinath temple, which is being linked to the name of the temple and a wrong message is being spread.

On the other hand, Sanjeev Autar, a member of the temple committee, said that the temple committee has not received any notice yet, but the name of the temple has appeared in the public notice published in the newspapers, for which a letter is being written to the municipal authorities to get it repaired.
