State Bureau, Jagran, Kolkata. Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee has not filled the SIR form by the stipulated time. He himself has also made this claim.
It is known that the Chief Minister had already made it clear that until the SIR form of every person in the state is filled, she too will not fill the form.
The last date for form submission in Bengal was December 11. On the other hand, BJP has completely denied this claim of Mamata. Amit Malviya, head of BJP's IT cell and co-in-charge of Bengal, said that Mamata Banerjee is trying to mislead the people of Bengal.
He has submitted the form on the last day. The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bengal has not yet given any official information about whether the Chief Minister has filled the form or not.
When CEO Manoj Kumar Aggarwal was asked about this, he said that people holding constitutional posts like Chief Minister and Chief Justice are marked voters. Their names are already registered in the voter list, so even if they do not fill the form, they will not be affected.
However, sources in the CEO office say that technically he will not face any problem due to the Chief Minister not filling the SIR form, but to get his name registered in the new voter list, he will have to submit all the documents which the Election Commission has prescribed for everyone else.
