State Bureau, New Delhi. The challenge of taking dangerous criminals lodged in Tihar to court and bringing them back remains. Now his appearance will be done through video conferencing. The Public Works Department (PWD) has issued a tender to set up video-conferencing facility in Tihar Jail. According to official documents, the aim of this initiative is to facilitate the digital appearance of prisoners in court in some cases.
According to the tender details, the estimated cost of this jail complex project has been fixed at Rs 9,52,445. The time for completion has been set within one month from the date of commencement of work. PWD will create court video-conferencing rooms, through which prisoners facing danger or suffering from any disease can be produced digitally after getting approval from the courts.
Tenders have been invited for electrical works for construction of court video-conferencing rooms in Central Jail-I Complex of Tihar Jail, New Delhi. According to the tender document, this work is being done under the video-conferencing experimental project.
The tender provides for internal electrification work, power supply arrangement and electrical installation assistance for video-conferencing rooms of the court in Central Jail-I Complex of Tihar Jail. It also includes wiring work, installation of distribution boards, electrical panels and other related electrical fittings.
