garbage spread on the road

Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. The efforts of the corporation to make the city clean and to come first in the ranking of Swachh Survekshan seem to be bearing fruit. In the coming days, all the water sheds in the city will be finished. Mobile transfer stations will be built in their place, from where the garbage will be transported to the trenching ground without touching the ground.

The Municipal Corporation has floated tenders for operating mobile transfer stations along with purchase of vehicles, which is likely to be completed by next week. Four hundred and fifty tonnes of garbage is being generated in the city every day. The Municipal Corporation has started a door-to-door collection system to collect garbage from homes. Hundred rickshaws and 78 auto tippers have been installed in this system.

Till now the garbage is collected from all the houses and taken to the dumping grounds, from where big vehicles are taking it and dumping it in the trenching ground at Bakarganj. During transportation of garbage, there is often a possibility of garbage getting scattered on the road. Many times vehicles carry garbage while dumping it, or pedestrians are troubled by the foul smell caused by open garbage being carried in vehicles.

To overcome this problem, four new mobile transfer stations will now be built. With this, 39 warehouses will be eliminated. Garbage from houses will come to this transfer station by tipper or rickshaw. The garbage will be dumped directly on the refuse compactor standing there. Then the garbage will be transported to Bakarganj through compactor.

Refuse compactors will be standing from 6 am to 9 pm

Compactors will be standing at the mobile transfer station from 6 am to 9 pm. During this period, garbage will be thrown on them from the vehicles and rickshaws coming by. After filling this compactor of about 18 cubic capacity will go to Bakarganj. It will hold a maximum of 16 tonnes of garbage. Due to being closed, neither garbage will fall nor will there be any foul smell.

Transfer stations will be built at four new places

Municipal Corporation Executive Engineer Rajeev Kumar Rathi said that transfer stations are already running at three places in the city, CI Park, Swale Nagar and Delapir. These are to be built at four other places also. For this, two places have been identified near Badaun Road, Pilibhit Road and Delapir.

Tenders have also been floated to operate mobile transfer stations. The Municipal Corporation will only provide the vehicles, the rest of the operations will be the responsibility of the executing agency. The corporation will pay him Rs 434 per tonne of garbage transportation.

11 refuse compactors and 50 auto tippers are being purchased.

The Municipal Corporation has also made online tender for the purchase of 11 refuse compactors as well as 50 auto tippers and two backholder (JCB) machines for the mobile transfer station. These vehicles are to be purchased for approximately Rs 10 crore. Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar Maurya says that the tender process is going on for the purchase of vehicles and operation of the mobile transfer station. The tender is expected soon.
