State Bureau, Jagran, Lucknow. With the help of NABARD, another Rs 2,000 crore will be spent on the development of infrastructure in rural areas in the next three months.
The decision was taken in the meeting of the High Power Committee for the financial year 2025-26 related to the projects funded by NABARD's Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary SP Goyal on Monday.
The Chief Secretary directed all the departments and NABARD to work jointly on various work points by increasing mutual coordination. Appreciated the work done by NABARD in the last years.
Chief General Manager of NABARD said that a target of distribution of Rs 3,000 crore has been set in the current financial year for the development of infrastructure in rural areas. Under this, departments can develop infrastructure like veterinary hospitals, minor irrigation, schools, hospitals and rural roads.
In nine months, various departments have been able to spend only Rs 955 crore. Instructions have been given to accelerate the expenditure in three months. It was said in the meeting that NABARD and the executing departments should work together on digitalization at a rapid pace, so that approval of projects, reimbursement claims and project completion certificates can be quickly uploaded on the RIDF web portal.
Principal Secretary Animal Husbandry Mukesh Meshram, Principal Secretary Irrigation Anil Garg, Principal Secretary Public Works Ajay Chauhan and many other officials participated in the meeting.
