Vinesh Phogat became the first female wrestler from the country to reach the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, she was disqualified in the final when her weight was found to be 100 grams more. After this he said goodbye to wrestling.

He joined the Congress party and contested the elections from Julana assembly constituency last year. She became MLA by winning by a margin of 6015 votes. Vinesh Phogat had received 65,080 votes and second place BJP candidate Captain Yogesh Bairagi had received 59065 votes.
