Jagran Team, Shravasti. The incidence of fog is increasing in the Terai. The fog kept raining like drops throughout the night. The Terai remained wrapped in fog throughout the day on Monday. People were forced to shiver due to the icy wind. The Sun God was not seen for the whole day. There was a holiday for children in schools.
The entire Terai is under dense fog since Monday evening. Visibility on the road was only 10 meters due to fog. There was silence in the markets and streets till 11 am. Drivers were seen crawling with headlights on. People faced problems in commuting due to dense fog on highways, main roads and link roads.
Heavy vehicles parked on the roadside of the highway amidst fog kept inviting accidents. Daily wage labourers, street shopkeepers and office going employees were seen shivering due to the harshness of the weather. In view of the weather on Tuesday, a day's holiday was declared for children in council schools. The helpless cattle took shelter in vacant houses and shops to save themselves from the cold. The maximum temperature of the district was recorded at 18 degrees Celsius and the minimum at nine degrees Celsius.
