Relief to industries following pollution norms.
Jagran Bureau, New Delhi. While the Central Government is dealing strictly with the polluting industries and getting them closed, it has also freed the industries following the environmental rules from the hassle of repeated renewal of environmental clearance for operation.
Now the operating permission given to them under the laws related to air and water pollution will remain valid until it is canceled if it is found to be violating environmental rules.

The Forest and Environment Ministry on Wednesday changed the guidelines under the laws related to air and water pollution and directed the states and union territories to make it systematic.
In which there will be no need for frequent renewal of operating permission. At the same time, the duration of the process for giving consent to red category industries has been reduced.

Applications related to this will have to be disposed of in 90 days instead of 120. That means the decision to give consent or not will have to be taken within this time limit.
The Union Forest and Environment Ministry has taken this step by making changes in the guidelines of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.
The revised guidelines ask states and union territories to fix fees for one-time operating consent for industries for a period of five to 25 years. In which they can get freedom from the hassle of paying fees again and again.
Meanwhile, the Forest and Environment Ministry has asked the state pollution boards to continuously monitor the industries. If someone does not follow the rules and pollution spreads, then action should be taken to cancel the operating permission given to him. Instructions have also been given to the states to make this entire system transparent.
