Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. On Tuesday morning, dense fog disrupted the traffic system for the 24th consecutive day. The transport system was affected from railway tracks to the sky. At Prayagraj Airport, Indigo flights to Bhubaneswar, Bengaluru and Mumbai were far behind the scheduled time.
Passengers going to Bhubaneswar had to wait at the terminal for about two hours. IndiGo's Bhubaneswar flight arrived at Prayagraj Airport at 12:40 am instead of 11 am, due to which it could take off at 1:19 pm instead of 11:35 am.
The Mumbai flight arrived at 1:22 pm and could take off at 2:11 pm instead of 1:30 pm. At the same time, Indigo's Bengaluru flight arrived at 12:32 pm instead of 12:20 pm, but got delayed and took off at 1:29 pm instead of 12:55 pm. The Hyderabad flight could take off at 1:36 pm instead of 1:15 pm.
The effect of the smog was so severe that the trains which were supposed to stand on the platform with the first rays of the morning, reached Prayagraj in the afternoon. Prayagraj Express, considered a VIP train, reached Subedarganj five hours late from its scheduled time.

Vande Bharat was also late
Humsafar Express took the test of patience and this train reached Prayagraj Junction with a delay of 6 hours 29 minutes. Vande Bharat trains, known for their speed, also appeared helpless in front of the fog. Vande Bharat coming from New Delhi was delayed by two and a quarter hours and Agra Vande Bharat was delayed by about one hour.
Long distance trains like Kamayani Express and Jodhpur-Howrah Express also remained in bad condition. In view of the seriousness of the situation, the railway administration had to cancel trains like Triveni and Avadh Vihar Express including Gorakhpur Special, due to which the problems of the passengers increased further.
Overall, Tuesday proved to be a very tiring and mentally stressful day for the passengers, with fog defying every time-table.
