‘Developed India-Developed Uttar Pradesh’ theme in UP Day-2026
State Bureau, Jagran, Lucknow: The Foundation Day of Uttar Pradesh state will be celebrated for three days this year. The theme of UP Day-2026 is ‘Developed India-Developed Uttar Pradesh’. Amit Shah, Minister of Home and Cooperation in the Government of India, will inaugurate UP Day-2026 on January 24 at the newly created Rashtra Prerna Sthal premises in Lucknow.
This time, preparations are being made to make Uttar Pradesh Day-2026 more grand, cultural and with public participation. The culture, crafts, cuisine and development journey of the state will get a platform together in Uttar Pradesh Day (UP Diwas 2026) to be celebrated from 24 to 26 January 2026.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday reviewed the preparations for UP Day-2026 and clearly said that this time the event should not be just a government program but a public festival, in which the participation of every district and the soul of the state can be seen. The Chief Minister directed the officials that all preparations should be completed with dignity, discipline and timeliness.
Celebration from Lucknow to the entire state
The main function of UP Day-2026 will be organized at Rashtra Prerna Sthal, Lucknow. This program will be telecast live in all the districts of the state, so that UP Day can be celebrated simultaneously in the entire Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, cultural and development related programs will also be organized at the local level in all the districts. There are instructions to compulsorily telecast state level programs in all the districts. Special emphasis has been laid on completing the selection of program venues in a timely manner and inviting public representatives to the programs to ensure their participation.
UP Day will be celebrated abroad also
Uttar Pradesh Day-2026 will also be organized abroad in collaboration with Indian embassies in Fiji, Mauritius, Maldives, Singapore and Thailand. Souvenirs will be provided for these programs from MSME and Tourism Department.
Taste of UP from ‘One District-One Dish’
This time the biggest attraction of UP Day will be ‘One District-One Dish’. Under this, traditional and famous dishes of every district of Uttar Pradesh will be available in one premises. Visitors will get a chance to experience the diverse flavors of UP, from Kachori-Sabzi to Kebab, sweets to desi dishes.
Organization of culture festival and craft fair
A special exhibition and craft fair based on the theme ‘Developed India-Developed Uttar Pradesh’ will also be organized in UP Day-2026. In this, a glimpse of the state's development journey, infrastructure, industry, agriculture, women empowerment and self-reliant India will be shown. There will also be cultural presentations based on folk, classical and contemporary art forms. The Chief Minister directed that the programs of Culture Utsav 2025-26 should be linked to UP Day and better facilities should be ensured for the artists and spectators. He said that UP Day-2026 should be such an event which showcases the culture, taste, craft and development vision of the state together and becomes a cause of pride and inspiration for every visitor.
ODOP, GI tag and local cuisine attraction
Under the 'One District-One Product' (ODOP) scheme, there is a provision for exhibition and sale of artisans' products. GI tagged ODOP products will be displayed on the lines of trade shows. Along with this, products of ‘One District-One Cuisine’ will also be displayed and sold.
Special on 150 years of Mission Shakti and Vande Mataram
Special exhibitions will be organized on the occasion of Mission Shakti, Innovation and completion of 150 years of 'Vande Mataram'. Instructions were given to various departments to honor exemplary personalities for the young generation, entrepreneurs doing excellent work in the tourism sector, women associated with self-help groups, personalities from the culture-art world, sports, Panchayati Raj, social welfare, rural development, agriculture and labor departments.
