DigitalDesk, New Delhi. Trump's action against Venezuela has caused a sensation all over the world. The US Army has arrested Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Ciliaflores. Reactions of leaders around the world are coming to light on this incident.
Maduro and his wife have been flown from Caracas to New York. Countries like Russia and China have strongly criticized America's attack. At the same time, some countries have justified Trump's decision.
Russia's Foreign Ministry appealed to release Maduro and his wife, saying that America should reconsider its decision. Russia says that all disputes between the two countries can be resolved through dialogue.
China has termed America's move as dictatorship. China says that America has violated international law and the Charter of the United Nations. Venezuela is a sovereign country, whose President has been openly imprisoned. This is completely wrong.
Almunsk, including Argentina and Ecuador, have also supported Trump's move. Argentina's President Javier Mieli said, "Long live freedom."
Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa said, "The empire of narcochavista criminals is about to collapse." Tesla CEO Alan Musk shared a tweet on this matter and said, "Congratulations, President Trump. This is a victory for the whole world. This is a clear message especially to dictators."
What did Italy's PM Meloni say?
Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni has given a mixed reaction to Trump's move. While sharing the post on X, he wrote-
I have followed closely whatever is happening in Venezuela. Italy, along with international partners, never recognized Maduro's election victory. We have always condemned Maduro's evil actions. But we believe that military action is not the right way to end it. At the same time, if it is about the security of our country, then hybrid attacks can be justified. Venezuela was promoting drug trafficking. In such a situation, the security of the country should be the top priority for any government.
Reaction of other countries
Brazilian President Luizinácio Lula da Silva has condemned America's move as wrong. He says that this is a deep attack on the sovereignty of Venezuela. He has also proposed mediation between the two countries.
The European Union has also appealed to America and Venezuela to exercise restraint. EU foreign policy chief Kazkalas said both countries should respect international law and the UN Charter.
According to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, "Britain has no involvement in this action of the US. International law must be followed. We continue to consider Maduro an illegitimate president. Therefore, there should be a peaceful transfer of power in Venezuela."
French President Anthony Albanese says, "We have been concerned about the situation in Venezuela for a long time. International law must also be followed. We appeal to both sides to ensure regional stability."
