State Bureau, Lucknow. Following complaints from public representatives and complaints regarding the works of Jal Jeevan Mission, vigilance is being taken now regarding the supply of drinking water in villages during summer.
On Monday, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh reviewed the ongoing projects under Jal Jeevan Mission and State Rural Drinking Water Programme. Instructions were given that there should not be any problem of water shortage anywhere in summer. Officials should make preparations from now, every engineer should talk to at least 10 village heads every day to get information about drinking water schemes. If a problem is found, it should be rectified immediately.
In the meeting held at the Jal Nigam Rural Headquarters, the Jal Shakti Minister said that wherever roads have been dug for laying pipelines, the repair work should be completed by the end of March. Officials should go to the spot and inspect the road works. In case of deficiency, action should be taken against the executing agencies.
Engineers should keep the public representatives of their area informed about the progress of the schemes. There should be no hesitation of any kind in this. Maintain communication with the public also. Additional Chief Secretary Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Anurag Srivastava were present in the meeting.
