Jagran correspondent, Nayagaon. A group of about 20 youth created a ruckus on the Disneyland swing located in the cow market in Harihar area Sonpur fair.
It is alleged that all the youth were in an intoxicated state and were pressurizing them to swing without tickets. When they protested, they not only abused the swing operator and staff but also carried out a fatal attack.
According to swing operator Santosh Kumar, the incident occurred at around 8 pm. The youth tried to climb the swing forcibly. Local youth Vinod Kumar (father – Sudama Singh) present at the spot asked them to take the ticket, on which the accused became more furious. Within no time, the youth attacked the counter and looted the total income of three days, around ₹ 60,000.
During the attack, the accused threatened to kill the staff. Staff worker Sonu Singh was repeatedly attacked with an iron rod kept near the swing. While attempting rescue, Sonu Singh's palm got torn and he suffered serious head injuries. Due to the sudden attack, there was a stampede in the swing complex and the staff started running here and there to save their lives.
As soon as the news of the incident spread, nearby people gathered at the spot. Seeing the crowd coming, the accused started running away, but people caught two youths. The arrested accused revealed their names as Nageshwar Singh (father – Atul Singh) and Anuj Kumar (father – Upendra Singh), both residents of village Salimapur police station Gauda, district Saran.
