Jagran correspondent, Chandigarh. With the aim of making the parking system in the city simple and transparent, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh is going to launch the 'MC One Pass' scheme today. This program will be held at 12 noon at the Municipal Corporation parking lot located in Sector 22-D (near Kiran Cinema).

Chandigarh Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla will be the chief guest of the program. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Amit Kumar, Special Commissioner Pradeep Kumar, Bank of Baroda Deputy General Manager Rajesh Kumar Sharma and Regional Councilor Damanpreet Singh will also be present with him.

Under this scheme, drivers will get the facility of monthly parking pass. Monthly pass will be available for Rs 500 for car and Rs 250 for two-wheeler. Through this pass, vehicle owners will not need to pay parking fees again and again, which will not only save time but will also increase convenience.

According to Municipal Corporation officials, 'MC One Pass' will be completely based on digital system. This will bring transparency in parking management and prevent irregularities. Bank of Baroda will provide technical support and payment arrangements in this scheme.

The Municipal Corporation says that with this scheme the problem of parking in the city will be reduced to a great extent and the traffic system will also be improved. Plan to extend this scheme to other sectors and major parking lots in the coming time.
