India-US trade agreement: Congress targets Modi government (Jairam Ramesh file photo)
Digital Desk, New Delhi. After US President Donald Trump announced the trade deal between America and India, Congress targeted the Modi government, saying that it seems that the Prime Minister has finally accepted defeat. This cannot be the Father of All Deals.
Quoting a dialogue from the film Mr. India, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said – It is clear that Mogambo is happy. Earlier, the free trade agreement between India and the European Union was being called the Mother of All Deals.
Congress had also attacked the government after US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore confirmed the talks between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump. The opposition party said that it seems that India gets information about its government's activities only from Trump or his appointed officials.
Trump talked to Modi
In a post on X, Gore had said that President Trump had just spoken to Prime Minister Modi. Keep watching. Till that time, no details of the talks were given by the Indian government, but later PM Modi himself gave information about the talks by posting on Facebook.
Not from the Government of India, but..
Responding to Sergio Gore's post, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that it seems that Prime Minister Modi and President Trump talked to each other today. This information has not been given by the Indian Government, but by the US Ambassador to India. Now this has become a common thing - India gets information about the activities of its government only from President Trump or his appointed officials. Trump-dependence!
