Jagran correspondent, Dehradun. Those who drink alcohol and drive at high speed on thirty first should be careful. Getting caught may spoil the New Year's celebrations. For this, the team of Transport and Police Department has marked checking points on major routes.
A special team has been formed to check speed guns and alcohol. The checking team will be on the road from the morning of 31st December.
RTO Enforcement Dr. Anita Chamola said that on the day of Thirty-First, a special team will be sent for checking on Mussoorie Road, Rispana, Haridwar Bypass, Saharanpur Road, Chakrata, Sahasradhara, Raipur, Maldevta, Thano, Lachchiwala, Rishikesh, Raiwala, Nepali Farm, Bhaniyawala routes of the district.
Strict action will be taken if found driving at high speed while intoxicated. Along with this, those who break the rules and regulations on the night of Thirty First will be sent behind the bars. The transport department will run a joint operation with the police.
RTO Chamola said that if found under the influence of alcohol, there is a provision of six months' imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000. Along with this, action will be taken to cancel the license.
