Three Cow Smugglers Hailing From Bihar And Kushinagar Arrested In Maharajganj, Sent To Jail

Jagran correspondent (Nautanwa) Maharajganj. Police on Thursday arrested three accused among the smugglers who fled after leaving a pickup full of cattle during vehicle checking in the border area Thoothibari on Tuesday. The joint team of Bargadwa Police, SOG and SWAT team, taking action under the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act and Cruelty to Animals Act, presented the three accused in the court, from where all three were sent to jail. All three accused are residents of Kushinagar and Bihar.

Last Tuesday, during vehicle checking in Thoothibari, cow smugglers left the pickup and ran away. The vehicle overturned due to high speed, in which four cattle died on the spot, while four were recovered alive by the police. The police had registered a case in the case and were conducting raids to arrest the accused.

Meanwhile, on the basis of information, the team has arrested Ramnayan Yadav, resident of Shivpuri Tola, Srinagar police station, Parasamlik, and Sarakat, resident of Fatakdauna Khas police station, Khadda district, Kushinagar, near Chakrar Mahavanala culvert on Wednesday night at 7.50 pm, while on Thursday morning, at 6.30 am, Jaiprakash Ram, resident of village Bairi Sthan, police station Piprasi district, West Champaran (Bihar), Hal Muqam village Bahiri Sthan, Hanumanganj police station, Kushinagar was reached from the cremation ground Chakrar Road.

Bargadwa police station incharge Shailendra Kumar Shukla said that all three accused have been sent to jail. Police team is engaged to arrest other smugglers associated with them. Along with Bargadwa police, SOG team in-charge Sub Inspector Yogesh Kumar Singh, SWAT team in-charge Akhilesh Pratap Singh etc. were involved in this action.
